To change, stay the same
Last week I introduced the idea of building strong foundations—getting enough sleep, eating well, and staying active—as the first step in making lasting changes. But that’s just the beginning.
Once those foundations are solid, the next step when you want to change is to *stay the same* in the right ways. It might sound counterintuitive, but before diving headfirst into change, it’s essential to reflect on the values, strengths, and successes that have brought you this far. What makes you tick? What are you good at? What do you want to carry forward? These are the things that should remain constant, no matter what change you’re tackling.
Change usually isn’t about chucking out the old and replacing it with the new. It’s about adapting and expanding from a strong base. When you build on what’s already working, change becomes less daunting and more sustainable.
So, before you try to “fix” everything that’s wrong, take a moment to appreciate where you are and what’s already right.
That’s how you ensure that your change isn’t just a flash in the pan, but a lasting transformation.
What’s one value or strength you’ll bring with you on your journey of change?
Until next week, take care of yourself and others
